NALI is an annual knowledge sharing event organised by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), through Center for Advancement in Digital and Flexible Learning (UTM CDex). NALI also stands for New Academia Learning Innovation, a framework to promote innovative teaching and learning practices in education. Pre NALI Workshop
Join us in the Pre-Workshop NALI 2025, a prelude to the main event themed “Accelerating Innovation in Teaching and Learning with AI”. This session is specially designed to provide educators, researchers, and participants with early exposure to the potential of integrating artificial intelligence in education. Key highlights include the development of Self-Instructional Material (SIM) for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) using AI tools, exploring Generative AI to create more dynamic and creative teaching content, transforming course design towards adaptive and student-centered approaches, and developing alternative assessments that are more flexible and impactful with the support of AI applications. Through this interactive session, participants will gain foundational knowledge, practical skills, and collaborative opportunities to explore innovative ideas that can be readily applied in classrooms and digital learning platforms.

NALI 2025 Keynote
(Instructional Design – E-learning) from University of Canterbury, New Zealand in 2008 and has been working in USM since then. Assoc Prof Dr Azidah’s research interests are in Instructional Design specifically in the e-learning and m-learning environment, Educational Technology, ICT & Multimedia and 21st Century teaching & learning. Her expertise includes Instructional Design in Learning Management System (LMS) and using Web 2.0 to enhance teaching and learning. She is the Coordinator for Program Pensiswazahan Guru (PPG), USM since 2011.
She has been awarded the Most Innovative Content Award (Hybrid Category) in the Annual Teaching & Learning Seminar 2011/2012 in USM, Pulau Pinang. She has also been awarded the Excellent Service Award 2012 and the Teaching and Supervising Award 2016 by Universiti Sains Malaysia. Assoc Prof Dr Azidah is also a USM Master Trainer, where she conducted trainings to USM lecturers in terms of instructional design, e-learning methods and tools, as well as new approaches of teaching and learning in the 21st Century. She also conducted Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions nationally to cater the need for specific courses. She has been awarded as Malaysian Master Trainer in e-learning which has been granted in November 2015 by Malaysian Academy of Leaderships (AKEPT). Assoc. Prof dr. Azidah will be awarded the Anugerah Pengajaran for the 10th Anugerah Akademik Negara (AAN) in the AAN award ceremony 2017.
