The Objectives

  • To recognize NALI research and innovation products in teaching and learning through exhibition and competition
  • To be the platform for sharing of research and innovation products in teaching and learning
  • To improve STEM awareness among educators in practicing NALI

  • Student-Centred Learning/NALI framework
  • Micro-Credential/MOOC

Information

Exhibition and Competition

  1. The NALI 2024 Exhibition & Competition is open to all educators.
  2. Participants may choose to enter in one of the following:
         • Individual
         • Group Participation (up to 6 members per group). Members can come from schools / universities / students / industry.
  3. The deadline for submission 25 August 2024 4 September 2024.
  4. Participants are allowed to submit more than one submission. If more than one submission from one participant is accepted, the participant must pay for each submission.
  5. The organizer reserves the right to reject submissions that do not fulfill the above-mentioned criteria.
  6. Only teaching innovation projects that meet the criteria and achieve the standards set by the organizers will be eligible for a medal—gold, silver, or bronze. Projects that do not meet the standards will receive a participation certificate only.
  7. Gold medalists will receive hard copy certificate, to be sent after the event.
  8. Participation is only accepted after the participant has submitted all three proofs of registration:
    1. extended abstract,
    2. poster, and
    3. proof of payment.
      Accepted participants will receive an email as proof of acceptance.
    1. Each participation is given a booth (1 unit table, 1 unit chair and a power source) to showcase their project.
    2. Participant has to prepare a poster at their booth for the project to be presented to a panellist of judges during NALI 2024.
    3. Content of the poster should contains the following information:
           • Abstract
           • Project Objectives
           • Novelty (New Ideas)
           • Creativity (Design of Ideas)
           • Innovativeness (Changes/Improvement)
           • Applicability (Relevant to NALI)
           • Impact to Students’ Learning (Engagement and Empowering)
           • Commercialization Potential
           • Awards Received (title of project, exhibition, and year)
    4. The size of the poster is A1. Download the poster template HERE.
    5. Participant must provide suitable evidence of their innovation based on the criteria presented in the poster.
    6. Participants are encouraged to prepare additional materials such as brochures, pictures and certificates that support their project.
    7. Participant must attend the competition in person. Online presentations are not permitted.

      1. For NALI 2024 Exhibition and Competition, each participant is required to prepare an extended abstract.
      2. The format of extended abstract is as follows:
             • Length between 3-4 pages, including References and Acknowledgement.
             • Written in English / Malay.

      4. The extended abstract must be submitted during registration.

        Each submission is subjected to a payment of :

        Early Birds (Until 31st July 2024)

        Normal Price (1st – 25th August 2024 4th September 2024)

        1. Each submission will be judged based on the following:
          Abstract

          Creativity (Design of Ideas)
          Innovativeness (Changes /Improvement)
          Applicability (Relevant to NALI)
          Impacts to Students’ Learning (Engagement and Empowering)
          Poster
        2. The judges’ decision is final.

          Here is the Booth Layout at Hall 303 (download here), Persada International Convention Centre, Johor Bahru for your reference and action. Please note that the booth can be set up on the 1st of October 2024 from 5.00 to 11.00 pm.
